SNYO concert was great (: Although we did not play that well on the day itself, our orchestra spirit is there; and that to me is good enough! I especially liked our 'Pirates of the Caribbean' piece where we wore headbands and eye pads. Haha that was fantastic man!
This March concert marks a halt for a few of our orchestra mates. Bye Huiyan, Deborah and Serene. Hope you all enjoyed your last concert, all the best for JC2 year and cya in chamber. (:
CTs are over! I didn't do well as usual, but somehow I have found a little motivation to start mugging wootz! Ok that is some kind of improvement okay.
Anyway, tonnes of work to do after CTs, gonna work harder :/
The programme is as follows: 1) Giuseppe Verdi's La Forza del destino Overture 2) Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Cellos, RV 531, in G minor (soloists: melissa ong, julia fung) 3) Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 in Eb Major, Op. 55 "Eroica"
Pretty cool stuff, especially our encore. It is a pity that our CTs are on the following week. We will enjoy ourselves nevertheless!
I had a chat just now with the Nee Soon Central YEC chair and got to know much more about what kind of projects the CC has been doing. Anyway, hope that we can be more aware of happenings in the vicinity.
Just came home from rehearsal, better start mugging now lol.
Today is the first time I heard a harmonica ensemble, and it was pretty cool. So after H3 this afternoon, I went to guest-play for harmonica as they need a bass and saw a few familiar faces. (: The pieces are ok; I guess we just need more practice.
I have been noticing a few issues for quite some time already but did not bother to think about it until now. One of them is that the music scene among the performing arts groups is quite saddening. Well, most of the ccas members are not enthusiastic about their cca and syf. We need motivation man! It is inevitable I guess. Most of the people who joined performing arts ccas are there not because of interest, but because they do not have any other alternative as they cannot do sports. I might get bombarded for saying this but this is the bitter truth. =/
Chamber is one of the lucky ccas already since our instruments cannot be learnt from scratch in 1 year's time. However, we are merely hinging on our grades and skills but our spirit is nowhere to be found. In this aspect, I am glad that the J1s sort of lightened the atmosphere in chamber.
I still remember the good old days in RISE when everyone is so on about syf and when we strived hard towards our goal. In fact, I would probably not have attained my musical grades and shared so much joy with my friends without RISE.
I had a slight fever the day before NAPFA but I still pulled through it! My pull-ups was a little disappointing; 5 which is a D haiz. My other stations are not bad though haha. I think I will be taking a retest to get a gold. Oh well continue training. I was having a bad stomach every morning this few days; it has been a pretty tough week. Glad that it is over!
Oh yeah friday's GP performance task presentation was cool. I think most groups did not spend much effort preparing lol. My group was not an exception so most of us just smoked our way through haha. Our group's topic is benefits of communism and basically we thought of 3 communist countries (China, Russia and Cuba) and presented in the form of interviews. I was interviewed by Cassey on Russia communism and I spent the whole interview drawing random pictures on the whiteboard haha.
I think I deserve a good rest so I am gonna sleep at 9 today!
I spent half the time learning guitar from Kong and Bao and I absolutely loved it haha. I want to get a guitar!
10+ of us cramped in his house, then we watch movies, talk random stuff and play cards lol. The birthday cake accompanied with strawberries and grapes was good man, and the best part was chilling at Macs with Yk and Terence at 3am to chill haha. It was cool.
Zhu you better appreciate my shirt k.
I kind of realized why I like camps and stayovers; not because of the fun factors but because they are good breaks from my hectic life.
