Chamber BBQ

Life damn tough!! Haha, everyone starts spamming this phrase. But true enough, life is quite tough. I have been busy with organising and planning games for BWinter OGlympics, a BW house party. It is really cool seeing all of us being so enthusiastic about this event and doing our part in the planning of this big event, and this is the first event that the J1 Silvermembers plans too! Our comm members are really nice people, thanks goes out to Edwin, Han Lin, Seetow, Zeming, Dawn, Leican, Zhixin, and of course Chloe for all their efforts put in so far, rock on!! I must say that our games proposal is quite comprehensive and the games will definitely be fun and exciting to play for everyone!

Ok back to talk about March holidays, it has been a short holiday, in fact, too short. Perhaps it is because I have been spending most of my time outside. Haha but nevermind about that, let me talk about our chamber BBQ!

It was thursday, and 8 of us went for BBQ at East Coast Park! Ok 8 is not a very decent number for a cca outing but it is not bad already considering the persistent rain on that day. Yes, it was raining throughout the day!

Anyway, the 8 of us went to buy food at a BBQ shop near Kembangan MRT, and we walked 30minutes from the MRT station. It had been a long walk haha. After that, we took a bus to East Coast park, and the sky looked really gloomy and dark! Then Enqi realized that she lost her wallet, so she went back to Kembangan MRT with fenwee. Lucky she got her wallet back phew!

After that near-loss, we took another bus and alighted near East Coast Park (supposedly), then Kuangtus lead us the wrong way which made us walk another half an hour in the rain to our BBQ pit. I swear Pei Khee was very noisy in the rain! Haha but nevertheless it was fun talking random stuff, playing random games such as the erm tea-coffee game and walking in the rain, especially under the huge umbrella yiyang brought! It was still raining then so we had to settle in a shelter and BBQ there. We got yiyang the professional firestarter, so starting the fire is not so hard haha. Then i started spamming songs and Eunice became very high! We were singing to the music and she was err dancing to the music? Haha Alex Sally Toh Xue Qian all the best and take good care of her k? (:

Shall not say too much about BBQ process, but it was quite successful. Yea, we stayed till about 10pm and it was already quite late for the girls who apparently should have gone home by 9! Haha so we hurried and cleared the area, but we got lost in East Coast Park (lol..), therefore, I only reached home at 12am. Haha, but yea it was a nice BBQ!

Our charcoal (:

Busy BBQ-ing, and fanning with the paper plate

Us, wootz!

Kuangtus looked ghostly!

Chamber has been really fun, we have lots of nice people, we have good players, and we all love chamber. Rock on chamber!

I am having class camp tomorrow, wish me good luck everyone! Haha I hope I do not get too tired for our concert this Thursday. Oh yes, I need to advertise for SNYO concert, hope it is not too late haha.

Do it before you regret

I went to visit my double bass teacher Ms. Yeo with fellow bassists, and ended up helping out to clean her new house. Though we only managed to wipe two cupboards, it was fun. (:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Was walking home when I heard a loud crash. I turned around and was rooted to the ground with shock for a moment. A Malay boy just got knocked down by a car. The car was driving when he suddenly rushed out. This sounds like a primary 6 composition, but the blind truth just hit right on my face. I felt helpless, and the boy's friend were too. I could not do a thing at this moment? When someone is splashed with blood all over his face? Wth am I doing stoning there? Then the taxi driver came out and started scolding the poor boy who was drenched in blood while calling for ambulance. It was horrible. Really horrible. It could be the boy's fault for crossing the road blindly, but scolding him in that situation does not help, does it?

I asked the boy's friend to get the boy's parents down, and by now there was a small crowd around the area. The boy's parents came rushing down, and together with the taxi driver, they were trying desperately to stop the boy's blood.

Seeing such a crowd there, I left the scene. What could I do? I thought to myself. I do not have any first aid skill, and I was lost with the situation. The only thing i did was to get the boy's friend to call the boy's parents down.

I was thinking, thinking about many many things on my way home. Cross the road with care everyone, look right, left then right again. Treasure your life, it belongs to you and it relies on your care and concern for yourself.

The accident lead me thinking, there are lots of things that one should do before he/she regrets. Sometimes, it is this hesitation that makes you regret, maybe for the rest of your life. You might be able to resolve a conflict by saying a few words, but you refuse. You might be able to save someone from trouble by saying a few words, too, but you refuse. You might be able to accomplish something that you wish you did, but you did not.

God, please bless the boy with luck, for him to survive this accident, and recover to full health soon.

Memories

I was looking through my old photos when I stumbled upon pictures of we RI BOYs in Cambodia, and pictures of SNYO bass section, great memories man!

Our Cambodian friends, we miss you! You are a really friendly bunch (:

The good old days when we RI BOYs went to Siem Reap, Cambodia for our service learning projects. Got to know a lot of BB guys and learnt a LOT of stuff there. I still remember how we have a few clashes here and there, but in the end we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and made a memorable and meaningful trip! They are all memories now.. But water pipe(水管= who cares), our Re group is the best Re group ever!

SNYO - our cca, our place to play music, our place to share our joy and laughter, our place to share food and sweets (haha), our very own SNYO! I looked quite dao haha.

Our March concert last year (I think), we are really bonded as a section!

Me and Ben with the pink bunny at SYF opening last year. Oh ya, I remember the kaleidoscope totally MESMERIZED us!? We were singing that song for the rest of the month at least. Anyway, I am going to miss the white jacket as we are going to change to black ones for the next concert. Goodbye white jacket.

Now that I look back, my life is actually quite interesting and exciting, not so dull and boring as I thought. Maybe I am too pessimistic haha.

GC

Was at KFC with mr, then we started talking about maths test which I did pretty badly. Cannot believe I did not use GC during test to find max/min points and x-intercept! I actually used dy/dx and solved the equation painstakingly. O well.. Economics test tomorrow, hope I will finish the test questions in time, and my neck still hurts from the sprain in gym yesterday night sigh.

Bball

Saturday, as usual, I went to snyo, rehearsal was alright, but the guest conductor is a little hard to follow. Then bj asked me to go to watch basketball match at Toa Payoh Sports Hall at night. I agreed since I had nothing to do.

By the time I reached home it was already 6.30, I quickly chionged my dinner and left home at 6.50. Fast dinner hahax. Lucky Jeff bought the tickets already (5 bucks only!), and bj, zj and I managed to make it on time!

It is a aba (america basketball association) match between Beijing Ao Shen and American Texas Tycoons in Singapore, which is quite rare haha. The commentator is so funny haha, especially the America accent he is trying to make. He says ‘people please retreat to your seats’, and we were like wth? Haha anyway back to the match, both teams are cool, and the players are very tall. Of course, most of the attention is on Sun Yue, the controversial player who is young and talented, and tall haha. His shots are awesome and the gai maos rock la haha. Number 14 is zai also; breaking through the defenders is like piece of cake to him.

After a nice shot, the commentator will go ‘cool, yeaaa!’, 'did you see that?', or 'oh that number 23 magician!' and we will start laughing haha. Oh ya I like the music between quarters and time-outs, really bring up the atmosphere.

Back to the match, it was very intense and exciting. Ao Shen was leading by 17 points at one moment but was chased until 107:105. It is at this crucial moment that Ao Shen players lost 4 free throws and Texas scored 2 free throws, so the match went into overtime. Ao Shen totally lost their spirit and gave up, losing 110:117. The worst thing is that Ao Shen players were walking and not defending for the last ball, so no.45 from Texas dunked the last ball and Ao Shen just totally lost it. That is the only dunk in the game, (the other coolio attempts to dunk all failed haha) haha finally saw one dunk lolx.

But come on even if you know that you are going to lose at least try your best to defend and lose with honour! As the leader of the team, Sun Yue definitely did not inspire and encourage his team. Texas, on the other hand, is very united and played as a team, as one. If you lose, at least leave knowing that you have tried your best right? Team spirit is very important!

So we left the place rather disappointed. I am not on any side since I just tagged along to watch the match. But seeing the so-called 'stronger' side lose is just __ (haha fill in the blank) Anyway, on our way home, I do not know why but we started learning Cantonese from our new Hong Kong friend Huan Ran. Haha quite funny the passengers are staring at us and we just went on talking nonsense...

I watched a tense but exciting match today! Ok off to sleep going to play basketball tomorrow at 7am haha.

Strategies, strategies

2 free throws which tied the match
